I tried the diversified approach and had so many stocks I became confused, seemed the group followed the market. I become nervous when all seem to be drifting lower and switch to mostly cash. Thus began my search for one or two really good stocks that are less affected by the market. These are usually small growth companies. This has forced me to really do some research, which is hard and requires patience. I certainly wouldn't bet everything on APM, but there are so many stocks out there at have a similiar chart that it worries me. You could pick three, four, or five and have a recovery fund. This is a good idea in addition to the ongoing search for a really good stock or two.
