That's fully consistent with the sleights of hand applied in the metrics they've tried to draw attention to...

So, we're supposed to applaud them because "the cash didn't shrink as much as some expected"... with a decline of "only" 8%... while we're supposed to ignore that the REASON the cash didn't shrink as much as some expected, was merely that they opted to shrink other asset accounts instead, to mask the shrinkage.

The cash held... only because they converted other assets they've disposed of into cash... ???

So, they shrank the other classes of assets instead... shrank the business... to focus "analysts" on the fictionalized cash position... as a proxy for "not shrinking the value"... while they ARE shrinking the value AND the cash, and are doing that at an still accelerating pace...

The last quarters operating results sucked... and this quarter was twice as bad as the prior quarter... and things are still deteriorating... in spite of the lipstick...

They couldn't float that whopper that "everything's fine"... AND kill the divvie... as a more responsible management effort probably would have done...
