Is Dell a compelling enough value now that one may have to wait five years for the whole transition (to a software service company) to be achieved?

Dell Says It Will Take 5 Years to Build a Software Business 'At Scale'
Swainson, a former CEO of software provider CA Inc. who helped build IBM’s software business during a 26-year-career at Big Blue, said today it will take Dellfive years to get to that scale even as he acknowledged that “time is not our friend.”
I will hold my vote pending a more thorough analysis. As of now I am tempted to not vote for Dell as a candidate stock in the SI vs Buffet challenge.
