john, thanks for the updated information. there may folks, real newbies, here on si who really need some training. i am considering a new thread just about books as an educational resource for trading and investing. some are good and some are really weak or bad. i am only interested in focusing on the best and rated for the most suitable entry point. an avid reader like yourself may be interested in participating in such a new thread. actually i am a books.com guy because they were first and give me better prices. i have recently been reading two excellent 1997 books and, although not pushing them, i believe they could gratly expand the understanding and knowledge base of almost anybody here. one is technical - 'technical analysis in the global currency markets' by cornelius luca, and the other is fundamental - 'what works on wall street' by james p. o'shaughnessy, it never ceases to amaze me that for the price of a few commissions books like these go unexamined by those too intent on squeezing some blood from today's turnip. also an avid reader, ray
