Nice response Young.

I agree that the Q2 report couldn't have come at a worse time.

What it's going to boil down to is the disks. The days of making
huge profits on the drives are over..

The question is, how much is a company that makes essentially
floppies (and gives away drives) worth? Hard to say.. All I
know is that if OEM penetration is huge, and Iomega doesn't screw
up the licencing agreements, it could be a lot indeed. But alot
could go wrong.. I already see 6 packs at Price Club for about
$75. (I picked up a pack :) ) just over $10 a disk, and it's only
going to get worse. With more companies making them, the price will
erode further...

Again, I ask myself... Does a company that makes floppies worth
a 1.5 billion market cap? a 3.0 billion? who knows...

About your point about 'those of us who work with computers daily
know the Zip isn't a fad'. Well, I design computers and our firm
uses a central network and huge disk arrays with optical drives
for backup. Only a few of us here (I'm one of them!) have a zip
drive. Everyone else backs up over the network or on a docking
station with removable drives..

Anyway, I'm on the sidelines waiting for action...
