(SeeNews) - Jul 20, 2012 - Hangzhou Infinergy Limited, the Chinese subsidiary of UK wind developer Infinergy, said Friday that it had signed a definitive agreement to build a municipal solid waste (MSW) and agricultural waste processing facility in China’s Jilin City.
Under the terms of the agreement, Infinergy will develop a waste processing facility that would convert MSW and agricultural waste into diesel fuel through fast catalytic depolymerisation.

Infinergy’s president and chief executive Jeff Mak said that the company would initially install a 20-tonne pilot machine, which would be followed by the installation of another 100-tonne fast catalytic depolymerisation machine, bringing the plant’s full capacity to 120 tonnes of waste per day.

Infinergy said that it was at an advanced stage of negotiations on long-term contracts with other Chinese cities as well. The company is close to finalising four contracts, including the one with Jilin City, that are expected to generate over USD 75 million (EUR 62m) in annual revenue.
