Steve, since you are experienced in Computers---what would you do with a computer (the one I am now using) which quits after 15-45 minutes and must be rested for awhile before it works again. I have had in the shop a couple of times and don't know whether to replace it or keep fooling around with it. I lost everything on the hard drive the last time as they had to repartition it. It is less than two years old with a pentium processor and a 540 hard drive. Is there anything in the portables that aren't out of sight in price?
Incidentally---talking about stewardship---I drive a 1982 Diesel Volvo and I have 227,000 plus miles on it---plus I have a 1976 Ford Pickup that has 94,000 miles on it. I'd like to be that kind of steward on my computers. I thought this one would last me the rest of my life---my "Leading Edge" 5 1/4 floppy drive 20 mg lasted me for eight years---my daughter now uses it and it still works fine---my second computer was a little Tandy 1000 with two floppy drives---it still works---and when this one is down, I still use it for word processor.
God Bless You.
Jack
