Nokia is really setting themselves apart with software. Truly mean it... Nokia Scout, Nokia Transit, it goes on and on and on. Really remarkable best-of-breed applications... dozens at this point.

Samsung to date hasn't put much effort into Windows Phone software development. I'm wondering whether Samsung is going to have a competitive offering.

Of course, ignorance is bliss... I don't know that the general smartphone buying public is aware of the incredible stable of software Nok is providing with their phones now. Samsung can make a hell of a piece of hardware, but I'm wondering if their lack of focus on WP software is going to change with WP8 or whether they are going to rely on hardware alone... which could well cede the market.

Knowing Samsung, they probably are going to have something compelling. But Nokia is really going all out and their software is pretty fantastic.
