I suspect that's the nub of most going wrong here and elsewhere. Life got very fat over the past few generations and that process is generally taken as a simple given. Most have no exposure to a serious look at how the machinery of production evolved, which study is further lost in the exponential explosion of other information.

Low info folks use moral intuition to elect and inflict sorry specimens on the rest of us.

But nothing concentrates the faculties like the certainty that one is to be hanged in a fortnight. Pieces of an ugly certainty are emergent, something will follow. Preferably something good.
