What do I know, but this reminds me of Elop's infamous "burning platform" speech and its aftermath. Another short-sighted, stupid move by Apple, IMHO. Making an incompatible dock connector at this point seems ridiculous and likely to piss off many people if it proves true. Hopefully there will be some sort of easy and small converter device that will make this change a minor inconvenience to most, but I'm not holding my breath.
