Honestly, if I went for KILLER snaps, I'd convert to 808, 4/3 or DSLR and maybe no telephoto lens at all. Looking at my snaps, I think the better ones are not made at the extreme zoom. Extreme zoom is mostly for "catch this for fun and memory but quality sucks". And most of the time the animal gets closer for better shot ... or not. :)

But for fun and less effort (i.e. not crawling in mud, not getting eaten by lion, etc. ;)) in trying to frame watchable shot, superzoom rules... :/ I was thinking about getting DSLR with big lens, but then I thought - I'm not a pro and won't be one. ;)
