Hey OSO - happy Turkey Day to one and all. I took forever to find
this. But I was wondering what the sentiment on Zacks was for LSI last
year compared to the current situtation. Could not find June/July '96
stuff but :

As of Oct. '97 -- 4 s.buys, 5 buys, 6 holds

cp. to

currently -- 2 s.buys, 3 buys, 13 holds

(I'm inclined to believe that since 1994 or so the current readings
must be the worst LSI has ever had or at least very close to the
worst.)

How's that for a total "giving up" of the company's prospects! Oct.'96
was tail-end of semi slump and even though stock market theoretically
is a forward indicator, analysts live in their own world. Pretty
interesting contrarian view-point... You could argue that things can't
be this bad... But you won't get much of an argument from me unless
the company starts showing us the fruits of their R&D or I begin to
see DVD taking off.... soaring... Of course I do agree this seems to
assume the "end is near" and I find that very very hard to believe re:
LSI... that R&D money should theoretically pay off one of these
days...

(Re: APAT - ignore or one-liners. not much point... And I was not
being harsh! - truly LSI does not seem to have any following or
interest at this point - if these boards indicate this then great -
the volatility of the stock is down because not many believers at
this point willing to place their bets on the company - of course
the person who posted saying he was accumulating is almost certainly
doing the right thing for a l/t horizon - buy when no one writes
about it... - risky but if you know what you're getting into you'll
be smiling a year to 2 years from now...)
