OK... Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I should have been more clear - speaking of the "power greedy" and "dangerous" I meant politicians - and not so much personally, but as a group, or rather as the net result of their actions as a group. Unfortunately, their ambition is not to do more and better with less, but to spend more and to expand. The way I see it, it's human nature - in any business and in any line of work people have a tendency to keep growing the business. That's the usual measure of success. With government, however, the ambition should be focused differently - like I said, to do more with less. To respect those tax dollars. And, of course, never to make financial commitments which cannot be kept.
I'm sure that on a personal basis not only employees, but the politicians as well, are good folks, for the most part. |
