Lightwave Logic Strengthens its Research & Development Capabilities with the Hiring of Charles L. Greenlee as Research Scientist and Optical Engineer

Mr. Greenlee Will Be In Charge of Testing The Company's Advanced Organic Nonlinear Optical Materials

NEWARK, Del., July 25, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Lightwave Logic, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: LWLG), a technology company focused on the development of a Next Generation Non Linear Optical Polymer Materials Platform for applications in high speed fiber-optic data communications and optical computing, announced today that Charles L. Greenlee has joined the Company's Research and Development team effective August 15, 2012.

Since August 2005 Charles Greenlee has been a graduate research assistant under Dr. Robert A. Norwood at the University of Arizona in the Pegyghambarian/Fallahi research group where he was actively involved in various advanced optical research projects and testing of Lightwave materials at the University. This included the design and testing of spatial light modulators based on the Fabry-Perot interferometer configuration, free space Mach-Zhender interferometers for characterizing the electro-optic and piezoelectric tensor components of poled thin films and many other advanced optical applications pertinent to the Lightwave Logic Research and Development effort. Mr. Greenlee is currently pursuing his doctorate in Materials Science.

Dr. Louis Glasgow, Chief Technology Officer for Lightwave Logic stated, "Chuck will be a tremendous asset to our research effort. His skill set overlays perfectly with what we are doing and he has accumulated enormous experience designing devices and testing nonlinear optical materials. This also includes previous experience with Perkinamine(TM)-based materials"

Tom Zelibor, Chief Executive Officer for the Company, commented, "We are all excited to have Chuck as part of our team. Having a full time optical engineer with Chuck's experience will most certainly help us achieve our goal of improving one of the most difficult areas to master, testing. This move will greatly accelerate the turnaround times we need as we develop new materials."
