No, you don't. You need to keep the positive things it does and get rid or the rest.

Just like a private company needs to get rid of all the things that don't work. The problem is, with government or private companies, that you don't know if they'll work until you try them. (With the exception of the wise folks on this thread that are 100% positive that Obama Care won't work).

A lot of people thought the Interstates were excessive, a lot of people thought NASA was excessive, a lot of people thought the railroads were excessive, a lot of people thought the National Parks were excessive. And a whole lot of people think investments in pure research are excessive, but they've paid off handsomely... even if many, many of them were a total waste.

(On the other hand I will admit that Congress is almost totally dysfunctional right now. But that's a whole other discussion, and not really for this thread).

We're humans. We form governments and private companies. Both do great things and stupid things.
