For some years I have provided my mother with a Ceiva photo frame. Its genius was the ability to do all the update remotely. But, not only is that no longer so unique, but circumstances have changed and it is no longer the requirement it once was. So, I am interested in transitioning to a larger frame with greater capacity than the 40 which the Ceiva can handle. I have room for at least a 15" frame, maybe 17" if the frame borders aren't too wide. I could probably fit 19" if the border was more like that on a monitor.

So, first, anyone got any particular recommendations? There are sure a lot of frames out there these days ... search on Amazon for 15" and one gets 3700+ ... although much of what is returned isn't a 17" frame. 17" is 1200 or so. We aren't interested in video, audio, or anything, just pictures.

Second, I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations about updating? WiFi would be very convenient, but presumably add to the cost significantly. Most have USB connections which would require periodically moving the frame to a computer. Many have card slots ... would that obviate the need for internal memory.

Third, a good candidate for the initial image set would be the directory I use to drive the slideshow which is my desktop's wallpaper. It currently has just under 600 images totaling just over 3GB. But, virtually all of these are 3872x2592 and the displays are much smaller than that. Is there a simple way to do a batch resize? I have PS CS3.
