Joseph, which part of my argument is wishful thinking? The fact that there is in motion an inexorable move to a freer world in which more and more people koin the middle class, ergo, the consumer class? Or is that the part that discuss the write down of excess capacity and the bankrupcy of the weaker competitors in the chip industries, and thus the reestablishment of a balance? Something that is not seen by many on this thread is the great deviation from the Moore law we had in the last 18 months (when chip prixes where falling at more than twice the Moore law's dictum) has created extremely low cost chip which will eventually increase their demand and if some of the capacity will be written off as I expect, I do not see what is wishful thinking, nor extrapolation from the last few years.

The last time we had such a situation, INTC got out of the ram and dram busines, Mostek and Fairchild went on the block cheap and Raytheon and GE got out of the Semi business all together. After a period of about a year a new cycle and many new companies started coming forward.
