"Yes, Look at Texas with the highest rate of uninsured in the US. Why don't you brag about that?" It is all about personal FREEDOM. People are uninsured because they want to spend their money on other priorities. I have a friend who runs a one man business. If he had to pay for the cost of health insurance he wouldn't have the money to cover the operating cost of his boat. It's their money. They have every right to choose whether to spend it on health insurance or something else.
