Pretty much the same outcome--true. But Science needs to operate in the open and not be cowed by virulent strains of homo interuptus. In the future, our knowledge of how to influence climate in beneficial ways may be crucial to survival. Building igloos and wearing skins may not suffice. We may need to change ocean currents and air flows and who knows what.

In any event, just as the space race resulted in myriad derivative advantages--so also will our research into climate. Of course, this does not mean that anyone should suffer economically or that impositions should be created based on whim or caprice. Science is and ought to be challenged and never ever given a free ride. But challenged by Scientists--not semi-literate bloggers!
