Because he was a extreme example of a lying cheating scum, and we should have known it years earlier but it was ignored by the MSM. Pity he wasn't like Gary Hart, inviting the media to follow him around, and the next thing you know, pictures of Donna Rice on his lap on the Monkey Business. It would have all been over a lot sooner.
