The market is mired is so much doom and gloom, that any good news will result in sharp moves to the upside. Look at the sentiment survey from the AAII: aaii.com Over 70% of investors are expecting a bearish/neutral market. I believe this is a great time to invest (as opposed to trading), pick your favorite blue chips and let them ride (ETN, AA, FCX, CAT). For a bigger return, pick some European stalwarts that have been hit hard (FTE, PT).
