You hit it.
One of the basic freedoms of this nation that helped make it great has been a free press. Through the years, the media has been pretty much a shining star to which we could point, and tell others we had a press that was free of government interference, free of excess partisanship, and told both sides of the story.
Sadly, we can not say that now. The press has, over the past two decades, become so liberal we can not depend on anything we hear.
They have completely tainted themselves, and anyone with even half an eye and half a brain can figure out real quick the press is no longer 'free', and no longer tells both sides of a story. All we hear these days is the side of the story that reflects favorably on the liberal causes, liberal politicians, and liberal agenda.
When and if anyone in the media decides to actually tell both sides of a story, they become the object of instant ridicule and attack from the ultra-liberal media, who attacks the messenger instead of the message. And, too many Americans suck up every word that comes from that liberal media, as being the whole truth - when in fact it is anything but.
No, we no longer have a free press. We have a media that is solidly in the liberal camp, one that tries mightily every day to censor and erase anything that isn't supportive of their liberal agenda.
Sadly, we have lost that pillar of America. The media nowadays strongly resembles the old "TASS" media, from the Soviet Union days. They lie, deceive, cover up, or whatever else is necessary to glorify and deify their liberal heroes. |
