irby,
Question regarding PCQuote. I had an order in with my broker for a short sale, with the bid sitting on a downtick for a while. I got notice of a fill 1/16 above the bid, without the bid moving off the downtick. A couple seconds later the bid moved up to match my fill price. Now it takes a little time for my broker to notify me of a fill plus there was that couple second delay, after that, till the bid changed, according to PCQuote. Could PCQ have been that far behind in their quotes or is it possible that my broker got an uptick in some other trading arena that is not monitored by PCQ? The stock was GTW, which is on the NYSE. Is this because the action passes through a specialist and then goes to a computer? I'm just guessing here. What's your take, or anyone else's, on this.
Perhaps I should go back to the NYSE web site and read their stuff again.
Bob
