Yes, "the defense of marraige act" is another right wing nutso idea.

Gay marriage would have no effect on heterosexual marriage.

Gays are simply not attracted to the other gender, so they have to marry whom they love. And the right wing wants to deny them this and make them suffer. It is sooo stupid and mean.

There is a documentary on the great country singer Chely Wright and how much suffering she went though being gay in that culture and what she went through deciding to come out of the closet. It was horrible for her, but the right wing doesn't care how much she suffered.

And when she did came out of the closet the country music folks did turn their backs on her just as she feared.

We liberals celebrate our gay children and do everything in our power to make them feel loved and happy. We welcome their partners into our homes and give them the extra support they need.

Dick Cheney didn't even attend his daughters wedding!
