Did he say why?

The obvious way would be that he might have more business since there are more patients with coverage, hence more demand. That would only work, though, if he didn't already have enough business either because he was new and not yet established or not attractive to patients because he wasn't a very good doctor, had no parking, or whatever. Or maybe because he does a lot of pro bono work for which he would now get paid. I don't see how any doctor who already has a busy practice could do better financially.
