Eric; The depressed price of gold is due to the new xerox 3D copiers. People are copying the gold and depressing the market. The copies are vey good, and fool even the mint.
It is a serious problem. Now only 5% of workforce can make the things we use. Years ago 80% worked on farms, now 5% make all the food we eat. It is coming to manufacturing. China and other Asian tigers can fill our garages with all the stuff we need(?) at less money than we can possibly make it for.So we have 5% make food, 5% make things, and 80% are in services or unemployed. Big deflation problem as we cannot take all the Chinese stuff, and they cannot stop maikng it. Ever heard of push technology?. They have it with Chinese tools etc. As we stop buying they drop the price as they must move the crap as it piles up in the factories.

Here in Toronto we have so much of everything that you must buy garbage for disposal. The designer garbage is full of versace and gucci shopping bags, Rolex boxes, 1881 Chateau des Chat fine wine bottles, so the neighbours will think you are high up on the status ladder. All the while you huddle in your freeaing, unfurnished flat, with moving silhouettes of upscale parties projected on you curtains. Parked BMWs, jags, mercedes are just paited dummies, with motorized chauffeurs adding to the image.

Such a hard life.

Bill
