What you said in your post is very much along the lines that I would also like to go. I believe that the votes received for a company should be a very important and prominent consideration. The only other consideration is, what would we do if there were quite a few stocks, from the same sector, that all received high votes.
For example, as we neared the final stages, if we had 5 oil companies that were all near the top of the voting, would we have 50% of the portfolio consisting of oil companies ?
I think we may need to get some degree of consensus and agreement on that aspect as soon as possible.

I'm not quite sure, exactly, what you're referring to. Could you maybe elaborate a bit more, especially with the reference to "vote buckets".
