From my take, we have 24 stocks w/ four votes or more. The question arises how we refine our list down to the top 10. I propose we, take the stocks that have five votes or more which leaves 17 candidate stocks.

9 Votes :- APA, PH
8 Votes :-
7 Votes :- AAPL, ADM, CSX, PM
6 Votes :- DIS, F, SLW, SPLS, VZ
5 Votes :- AMAT, CL, CMI, GLW, ROC, SE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
eliminate the bottom seven companies
4 Votes :- NSR, RGR, ROICW, SLM, STX, UHS, UNP

From that list, we would then need to delete seven of the companies. The elimination could be done several ways: (1) limit a certain number by sector, (2) eliminate by size and/or market Cap, (3) eliminate by risk/reward ie) expected total return if held three years and then annualize that number and rank the group, (4) sort the group by 5 year PE or many other approaches.

Or selectively choose one of the candidate stocks to eliminate by making an argument against. You could compare similar candidate companies like F & CMI choosing the one to keep and the one to eliminate and/or just a simply reason to eliminate a stock.

I propose we eliminate Philip Morris International, Inc. (PM) -NYSE for the only reason that they manufacture products that kill people and do nothing to promote the well being of society. Why should I allocate my limited resources that does that. Investing capital for the mere reason to make more money is not a reason IMO to do any investment. Furthermore, if that business manufactures products that have been proven to kill is just wrong for me. There are way too many other investments one can make that provides products & services that are much better for society.

This is an easy one for me to cut from the list. If anybody objects, state your reasons otherwise, I propose PM be eliminated from the SI Buffet challenge list. Yes, I was a smoker for over 30 years and have not had a cigarette in the last four years. I quit at age 50 cold turkey after my brother-in-law died of a heart attack due to smoking at age 55. When you see the damage these "death" sticks have on some one close to you, you never understand why they are even allowed. Yes they make tons of money but they also kill tons of people.

It's a losing risk/reward for the user.
