SI poster with cancer:
"Since qualifying for Medicare, my hassles with private insurance companies have come to an end. I have no problem getting high quality, timely care, and I don't have to fight every time my oncologist wants a scan.
I am still paying medical insurance premiums, but between the cost of the Medicare plan itself, and the Prescription Drug Plan, plus the supplemental plan (through AARP), It's about half of what I was paying for Blue Cross. Plus, I don't have the deductibles and high co-pays.
Medicare works.
PS: My oncologists and the rest of my doctors are at UCLA. If I hadn't qualified for Medicare some time ago, I would have had to change doctors, because not too long ago, UCLA stopped accepting Blue Cross, due to constant problems they had getting standard procedures approved, and other issues. |
