The minuet between Spain and the Eurocrats leading to a sovereign bailout has begun in earnest.

ft.com

Which will come first, the bailout of the Spanish banks or Spain's?

Oh, and before we get too excited, what will the German Constitutional Court have to say about any sovereign bailout? It has refused to rubber stamp the banking sector's bailout thus far, and may well say nein to a sovereign bailout.

My takeaway: markets are so desperate for good news, they'll clutch at straws. Which is precisely what they did today.

The takedown follows later this week.
