Stocks often sell off on news. Usually this is because the news has been leaked out way before and so the story is already priced in. "BUY RUMOUR, SELL FACT." A cliche, yes, but also the reality of the market. Unless it's something that is going to fundamentally catch people off guard, people will sell into news because what else is there. If a stock doesn't go up after good news or when all others in it's sector go up??? When will it. Sorry, the market's not a fair place...just ask people on this thread.
