the theory here that samsung will cancel micrascan order is wrong. samsung's cash holdings have been placed mainly in bonds, both US and korean won. the korean won is paying 22% annual right now, which when accounting for the devaluation of the won is still a decent return relative to US holdings. while the korean stock market has bottomed, the bond market in korean has firmed up the past several days.

as for 20 wph, you're correct. my reference was to the remainder of the article which was not printed.

the price of samsung's stock hasn't affected it's ability much relative to conducting business. it is my understanding that other factors have worked in relative to korea
