You are making the first principles mistake of presuming that doing something is "messing the climate". CO2 had declined to homeopathic levels, with plants gasping for the last vestiges of CO2 in a vast tragedy of the commons. Plants of course could not agree to stop destroying their climate and food source. There was no voting among plants. They just took what CO2 they could get and the devil take the hindmost. They had forced Earth into an ice age, broken by brief 10,000 year interglacials, but with great danger of Earth flipping to Snowball Earth with pure white snow reflecting so much sunlight that Earth will not warm again to another interglacial. The basic mistake of Global Alarmists is to think that increasing CO2 is a bad thing. 2020 could yet see the start of the flip to Snowball Earth. Hopefully it will be just another Little Ice Age, or at worst just another reglaciation, with plenty of room in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere for people to move from high latitudes to warmer climates. But with bad luck, it could be snow all the way to the equator. Gaia didn't invent people for no reason. Gaia obviously wanted all that carbon back in action. 2020 foresight, Mqurice
