I'm glad you are playing Devil's Advocate; It keeps the discussions and our thought processes alive. My only concern with your position is that you are measuring TPRO by standards that no software company, not even Microsoft can be measured by. What will happen to MS, Oracle , Netscape in the next two years? Do they have a sure long-term product? I believe companies with a services component are a lot more stable than those whose revenues are derived mainly from software offerings.

What would happen to MS if combination of DOJ and Java strangle holds their growth by next year? How about Dell in 6 months, if the worldwode economy gets worst eating into their retail sales and the NC starts eating into their corporate sales. While Oracle is doing well, what if in the next couple of quarter's their tools business doesn't recover and they loose sales to MS, Borland, etc.

You see my point? To have a product that is as close to a sure thing as possible for the next two years is tremendous in this business. The question's we should be asking ourselves is what is Tava's vision after Y2K. Their track record as of late is pretty good with regard to coming through on their promised release.
