Here is the future Cymi in my eye, the vissionary eye.
Currently, I would focus on helping the all fabs worldwide in learning how to use those new and complicated "bulbs", get people started. I believe this is what exactly Akins is doing now.
I would hire people to work at the semi fabs or have technical help readily available for any fabs who may have trouble with those "bulbs." (With a fee in some instances). I would build spare parts inventory near or readily available for anybody who wants a repair or replacement while shrewdly using the least working capital as much as possible.
I would see my business booming as the world goes to 0.25 and below, and cash flows in just like, well, cash.
In a short while, I would move Akins away from the CEO's office, give him a chief scietist title, all the credit he deserves for the last ten years to bring this company to a success, and maybe the president of the company if he promises to behave.
I would hire a new CEO who must be an expert in marketing and negotiation. He must create the right atmosphere for substantial price increase due to whatever the reason the new CEO can find, without irrigating the customers. (I am afraid Akins is not able to do this).
I would use my cash to purchase a X-ray technology or E-beam technology, or whatever I bet it's going to go below 0.08 by 2005 or so. In other words, invest heavily for future technology. So I can become the true reliable light source for the smi conductor industry for many years to come.
Did somebody say in 1997 that Cymi's business is goint stop ? Hehe, those are the people without a vission.
In short (joking), I am not blinded by the short sellers, short term difficulties, or even unsubstatantiated rumors, or the worries about what's going to happen ten years late. With a strong and vissionary management team along with the financial resources, a business will always prosper !
Good luck to all ! |
