Louis Rukeyser?? I have rarley seen him mentioned as someone to be thankful for. ;) But then it has been a while since I last saw the show.

This is a person who has a very popular weekly show on TV where he brings together different market "gurus" to talk about the market and specific topics. He tends to make his selection of market specialists that will maximize the conflict and therefore interest by the viewer. He likes to berate some of his guests to add to the interest and "humor" of his show. Personally, I think some of those analysts that he has on the show are so bad and outrageous in their market pronouncements that they deserve this treatment. But then this is part of what makes the show interesting to some viewers. He also has very dry humor. He is the one in the seat that wears his $6,000 Rolex watch which is easy to identify even from a wide angle shot of the group. Investors do not tune in for him specifically as much as they watch the show because of the people he has on it and how he handles them. He also has an increadibly large ego and is narcisisstic with those who do not recognize his name. This has been documented recently in a book that is available in your local bookstore. Fortunately, Richard, he probably is not participating on the SI boards. So you are "safe" from Louis. Still, do not expect to get called in as one of his market experts on the show. ;)

As a side note, one of the principals of the Motley Fool web site wrote for the Rukeyser newsletter before starting up their web site.
