Another one bites the dust Western Digital Passport 1 TB USB 3 HDD died on me today. I take great care handling these drives, remove them the proper way from the computer and still getting bad drives. Earlier this year it was an Iomega USB 3 500 GB hard drive, warranty replaced that drive. In my opinion, have 2, or even better 3 different brands of external hard drives for backing up. Rotate them every time you back up.
