Veggies and Lean Proteins and Water only.

Yes, good idea, but demand for those items will go up. I wonder what that will do -g-

I make my own bread, I dont bother to use a machine either. I dont knead the dough much, and definitely dont make a fuss about it as per the TV programs. I dont use any oil, and raise it three times using standard baking yeast which is much cheaper than the fast bake stuff, you just need to have it well started. Once the system is in place, and your organised, its easier than going to the shops and buying it, and it lasts about a week. Its about a thousand times better than the crap out of the shops, even the fresh crap thats baked on site. The food industry in the UK really does screw up the bread manufacturing process and they have been for about the past 70 years. Its totally unnecessary and makes the bread taste like tasteless cardboard sponge mix. Real strong flour is still cheap, but does not store well for very long periods.

I could lose a few pounds in body weight though, so going on a diet isnt such a terrible thing. Should I thank the Bernanke for helping me stay in trim ?

From memory, the vegetables in the USA, California in particular, included salad stuff like lettuce were tasteless. They were visually good, and modestly priced, but simply didnt taste of anything. This was back in the 1980's before GM crops became dominant. The arguments about the trace minerals being absent from the ground after thousands of crops is maybe worth following. Growing your own veggies and using normal seeds with natural fertilizers is something I am considering. The is no doubt about it though, growing your own food is really hard physical labour and requires lots of dedication. The Bernanke will undoubtedly inspire us though -g-
