What amazes me is that these people are such simpletons that they don't see that the lack of equal rights existed before the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution existed. It was in fact those documents that allowed equal rights to be extended to everyone. It was those rich white guys who gave the people the tools with which they could eliminate abuses to various groups and individuals that had been an ingrained part of the human culture for thousands of years.
