No, you're right ... was projecting a little bit from when i was younger & hoping Country might go back in those days (1971) & take off on a little different track than usual "Hee Haw" & Grand 'Ole Opre America milieu . For me can remember just cringing a tiny bit from one more song that was titled "Empty Arms" , "You're My Man " for it was all remaining pretty drenched in hokey pokey , country "soda pop" . But a good ol time ...
Was still a pretty divided line in those times & country knew what was right from wrong keeping it simple & sweet , though Rollin Stones did come out with Wild Horses that year , Paul Simon & Bernie Taupin's lyrics must have stirred few minds then , not till 1980 really that country goes to Hollywood big time with movies Coal Miners Daughter , Honey Suckle Rose, Urban Cowboy & Nine to Five .
Think America was trying to regain its balance & back to its roots then , electing Ronald Reagan ?
Here's what Dolly was doing in 1971 "Joshua" , rivers & oceans of big beautiful flows of angel hair , rhinestones everywhere Heee Haww Yeeeeaahh ! ;o)
