My father drove himself to hospital with groin pain--collapsed outside ER--had bulging abdominal aneurysm that started leaking.
Lucky they were able to repair it--a few years later the same area was weak and finally gave way. Multiple bouts of nicotine related cancers could not get him, but the old leaky aorta did.
I get checked every few years.
Also high risk of colon cancer-both grandfathers died from that--I had a close call a few years ago and now get 3 year scope plan.
Genetics and lifestyle--one you can control, the other you really cannot worry about.
