GZ, one explanation is that dollar denominated assets appear to be the only safe alternative to park one's money since the central banks have been so effective at tarnishing gold. I believe we will catch the asian flu-only a matter of time. Many bears,myself included, are operating under the premise that we are in a mania which will end badly but realize that timing the end is extremely difficult. mike
