Thanks Eric for that explanation. What exactly the inventory number that Apple gives at the end of each quarter represents then if not channel inventory which I assume they get from their channel partners? If that is true, 2.61mil can not just appear out of thin air. If the channel inventory is 8.6mil at the end of Apple's Q2 and 8.3mil at the end of Apple's Q3, even if they drew down 2.91million from the Q2 inventory to account for that extra on Gartner numbers, they replenished it by end of Q3 (minus 300K) and that should have been reflected on Apple's Q3 sell-in numbers of 26.03mil. Or is my understanding completely wrong of what "channel inventory" means?
