It is a "can't see the forest for the trees" thing.She has a drastic misunderstanding of the way government actually works. Say what? If "connected democrats" were to receive life-saving treatments while "successful businesspersons" are denied them, please describe how you see that playing out. Perhaps you consider conjuring up a feasible way to accomplish something a tree-blinded activity but it's nuts to concern oneself with something that is not feasible. The way "government actually works" on the ground is that programs are implemented to effect legislation. Those programs contain systems that are developed and implemented by bureaucrats either themselves or through contractors. The only way I can see to effect what was claimed would be something like this: for the democratic party to identify and maintain who was or was not connected in some data base, some death-panel functionary, probably in collaboration with the IRS, would flag successful businesspersons, and providers or insurance companies would be required to check the flag before providing treatment. If the patient is flagged as a connected democrat, the provider would proceed full speed ahead. If the patient is not flagged, then the provider would know that he would only be paid in full if the patient paid him. If the patient is flagged as a successful businessperson, then the provider would not be allowed to treat him. Do you really think anything like that could happen without provoking a monumental firestorm? If you see some feasible way to pull off death panel favoritism to connected democrats and hits on successful businessmen, please enlighten me.
