I have been a tad aggravated at the remarks about the banks this week, not because of the obviously racial reference, but the claim that R&R are going to support the big banks. There has been no bigger supporter of anti-consumer banking measures than Joe Biden -- all the while, being in the hip pocket of MBNA. The rewrite of the bankruptcy code -- which Rs supported along with Biden, was one of the most anti-consumer pieces of legislation I'm aware of. It is really difficult for me to understand how a bank that solicits college students with $10,000 of unsecured, "signature" credit, should be given the right to hold them to that liability for their entire lives. It gutted the bankruptcy code as far as individuals are concerned. One of the things I think GWB signed into law that was absolutely wrong.
