Well i assume he is a Mennonite as he graduated from Eastern Mennonite College. Mennonites as i remember are more liberal than strict Amish--i remember it as if you saw a TV antenna(or even a tractor), they were Mennonites--i think baseball would be permitted. Regards strict Amish, did you know they had roughly 6 years to do ANYTHING to wanted, from 16-22, before they decide to be baptized as Amish as they believe it must be a free choice decision, no child of the Amish is baptized.(BTW: they have wild parties in the fields, and the parents never ask questions) The amazing thing is 80% choose to take their vows. The reason given time and again is "The Love". Amish children are raised on Love and NOT the rod. i lived in Amish country for 6 years.(i lived i extreme north west Chester County on border of Lancaster County(back when that part of Chester County was all rural---it is now just developments, the rural has been DEVOURED.People tell me never go back there as i would be in SHOCK. Regards Victorino, his price will be highly dependent on what he does for Dodgers--plus he has already said he would play at a discount for the Phillies---the key is what they think of the 3 CFs they have in minors--the biggest being, Gilles---he has great potential but is BRITTLE!!! He is superfast--if he could play without getting injured and bat .250 he could steal 50 bases a year. Galvis back situation is HUGE---as he could play 2nd/3rd or SS, and just giving others days off he could start at least 100 games. Galvis is, for me, before that damned freak injury, the best player in the entire Phils Minor Leagues--a potential allstar. Stutes, who knows, all i know he had surgery on his elbow. But fact ,CF, is a key position on any team, and Mayberry isn't the answer. Ciao, Max p.s. but Victorino's sign indicated he doesn't see himself coming back. |
