And all that extra effort only generates 16% in "Other Revenue," about $33/subscriber/year.

And if you could figure out and subtract all the legitimate overhead expenses required to support the extra activity that generates the 16% in "Other Revnue", where's the profit? AOL's a middleman and the Internet will squeeze the middleman relentlessly, regardless of product or service offered, unless, as usual, the producer of that product or service has a substantial, sustainable monopoly. AOL is a middleman in spades, and they have a monopoly in NOTHING.
