American companies have had this dream of massive markets in China since Deng opened things up in the early 80s. It's pretty dubious. I've seen no sign that American businessmen understand China very well, except maybe Apple squeezing their supply chain and milking their cult and Sheldon Adelson serving the fleshpots. The Chinese know business, the overseas Chinese have been the entrepreneurial ethnic group of all of Asia since forever, and US corporate practice isn't a very good fit for Chinese crony capitalism.

Plus more profits for American Corps doesn't actually do much for US jobs in particular or the US economy in general.
