PureView Camera Technology for Windows 8 In The Words of Nokia EVP
Sunday Aug 19, 2012
crazyjoys.com

While Nokia is busy with its Asha series smart phone launches there is something else cooking up in its own secret stables. The next generation Windows 8 phones are just a few months away at best and any information about their features or otherwise is the hottest searched news online.

Scheduled for launch in the next month itself, one of the first squadrons of Nokia Windows 8 phones should show whether they can take the mantle of the Lumia, and further extend it or if their adventure will be cut short as before with other Windows phones. The problem is that Windows 8 is entering into Android competition which has already got a huge fan following.

Probably, one place where Nokia will usurp Android with its line of Windows 8 smart phones is the camera quality. Nokia has always been associated with superb camera quality, and this definitely seems to be the case with its Apollo Windows phone thanks to its use of PureView technology. Best of all, unlike all other manufacturers for Windows 8 phones, Nokia will not wait to release it to the world.

In an interview with Nokia EVP, Harlow, she said that they are busy collaborating with Microsoft to enable PureView technology on their sets, and therefore take advantage of the technology that powers Nokia 808. This should differentiate Nokia Windows 8 based smart phones from the rest of the stock.

In her interview she even focuses on some long standing complaints against Nokia camera issues such as low light photography, and distinct blurriness saying that the new crop of Windows 8 phones will remove these issues thanks to the power of Win 8 and its PureView technology.

Although, Windows 8 is an entirely untested mobile platform, Nokia does not want to wait and watch how well the market receives this launch. Its only objective at present is to gather back a major share of the smart phone market that is currently under Samsung and Android grasp.
