There haven't been "hundreds of civilian trials" of terrorists captured in foreign countries.

The only one I can recall is of the California leftist who turned Taliban fighter. John Walker Lindh, aka the Amreican Taliban. Lindh's family moved to California, his dad turned gay, and Lindh was inspired to convert to Islam by the movie Malcolm X. He ended up fighting American troops in Afghanistan.
